At LESPWA International, our mission is to bring hope and healing to the people of Haiti, and throughout the world. We do this by ministering to the spiritual, physical, and educational needs of the people we encounter in all walks of life.

“The poor and homeless, they are so very desperate for water, their tongues parched, their lips cracked and bleeding, and yet another day,  no water to be found. But I’m there to be found, I’m there for them, and I, God of Israel, will not leave them thirsty. I’ll open up rivers for them on the barren hills, spout fountains in the valleys, springs in the mountain tops.  I’ll turn the  hard, dry, baked-clay badlands into a cool pond, the waterless waste into splashing creeks. I’ll plant the red cedar in that treeless wasteland, also acacia, myrtle, and olive. I’ll place the cypress in the desert, with plenty of oaks and pines. Everyone will see this. No one can miss it— unavoidable, indisputable evidence that I, GOD, personally did this. It’s created and signed by The Holy of Israel." (Isaiah 41:17-20, The Message)

We started 11 years ago with an invitation to go to work in Haiti with a local dentist.

Over the years we have gone to Haiti to establish relationships and create patterns of change that can give life improvement to the people of Haiti.  The goal of the group is not to change the people, for they are indeed a beautiful people, but to give them help and hope for improving the quality of life they face.

We have found the answers working alongside national people in Haiti.  A small community in northern Haiti is now the home base.  We started out at a small orphanage in southern Haiti, where children who were living on the street have come to a place they can call home.  They now know they will have three meals a day, and all their needs are met.  They no longer have to fight for a piece of bread.

Another big part of that journey has stemmed from research to find other viable and life sustaining services that we could partner with. As we go in and out of country, we come alongside and team up with key groups to help meet basic needs.

We now assist schools, work in clinics and hospitals, host groups of well drillers from other parts of the country, partner with Clean Water For Haiti (a bio-sand clean water project), hold women's meetings and teach public health education.  Along with this we do rice feedings and outreach to remote areas.  Evangelism is always a part of our efforts to help people find the hope of eternity.

We believe that Haiti can be strong and healthy and independent.  We pray that each effort we make moves us a step forward in that direction. We trust the outcome will be victory for this island and its people.  We do not take this mission lightly, and truly appreciate all efforts of those who feel their heart is leading them to be part of our mission to bless Haiti.

Together we serve.

"Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ " (Matthew 25:37-40, NIV)
